TO DUNEDIN 2/10/10

We set off early for the nearby town of Twizel still with marvellous views of the mountains,we also made our first visit to a winery at Kurow. Then it was off to visit Oamaru and the beach Beachey head hoping to see penguins but unfortunately we were too early,we did however see basking seals, after that it was the Moeraki boulders before heading off to our campsite in Dunedin.

Christchurch to Mount Cook 1/10

We picked up our vans about 9 a.m then it was off to the supermarket for supplies, we then set off with great excitement to Mount Cook, the scenery got better and better.

Day in Christchurch

  1. To help us get over our jetlag we spent our first full day touring Christchurch,we could see why it is called the Garden City, its hard to accept spring flowers in the autumn. After the trip we had a briefing with the motorhome hire company Kea who explained a few basic differences in driving rules. In the evening we had an excellent dinner which helped us get to know our fellow travellers.
